Jeffrey Spector, 54 (pictured front right in centre image), who had an inoperable tumour growing on his spine enjoyed a final meal with his family (centre) just 16 hours before he travelled to the Dignitas assisted suicide clinic in Zurich (bottom left). The married father-of-three feared the tumour would leave him paralysed from the neck down at any moment and described suicide as his 'least worst option'. His family had urged him not to kill himself, but said they 'supported and respected his decision 100 per cent'. Last night, his wife Elaine, 53, said she and their three daughters Keleigh, 21, Courtney, 19, and Camryn, 15, (together bottom right) were 'in a state of all-consuming grief'. Mr Spector's death will inevitably fuel the debate over the right-to-die issue in Britain - particularly as his condition was not believed to be a terminal illness.
