A pet snake becomes best friends with a rat it was supposed to eat.

A Twitter user, Zoey Michelle shared an intriguing story on her timeline about her aunt’s pet snake who made friends with its meal instead of satisfying its hunger.

A rat who was meant to be fodder for the snake is still alive 6 days later and has become tight buddies with the snake. They sleep and play together within their confined enclosement.

Zoe has been facing a bit of criticism by some ‘animal rights’ people who feel that leaving the rat with the snake is inhumane as the snake will consume the rat when it finally gets hungry. Some have however come to her defense saying that is the snake’s natural food.
