Fast rising star of Pains of Chimamanda, Blessing Malvina Onwugbara, is a Microbiology graduate from Abia State University. The native of Umuchieze- Umunneochi, Abia State, in this chat with NKECHI CHIMA, opens up on her selling points, failed relationship and search for her ideal man. Excerpts:
How long have you been in the industry?
I have been in the industry for three years on and off.
Which would you say is the favourite movie you have acted?
My favourite movie is Pains of Chimamanda. I played the role of Terri, a character who is a hustler. It is a wonderful movie and I appreciate the director for believing in my ability to depict the role. I have also played movies likeHoneymoon Scandal, Car Wash Girls, Illuminati Girls, and Angels of Illuminati among others.
What is your advice for ladies living ungodly lives as depicted in Pains of Chimamanda?
Most ladies are lazy; they don’t believe in hard work. Instead, they embrace prostitution. There are a lot of skill acquisition schemes that could impact their lives positively but they are not interested. They could learn hairdressing, tailoring and bead making to mention a few. They can also work as sales girls in any organisations or business outlets and earn a reputable living. Why should a lady risk her life? In fact, there is no gain in prostitution. It only damages your body and soul.
Tell us your reason for choosing acting?
I have always wanted to become an actress. During my secondary school days I was involved in the school’s Debating and Dramatic Society. And I thank God for where fate has placed me in life today.
What part of your body do you appreciate most?
I appreciate every part of my body, but my hips and boobs are my selling points.
Who is the lucky man in your life?
Honestly, there is no man in my life presently.
It’s difficult to believe that a girl like you, with such amazing curves, is without a lover?
I was in a relationship but it did not work out well.
Were you heartbroken, how badly was your heart damaged?
I wouldn’t say its heartbreak that resulted in a damaged heart. Rather, it was just a break in communication that gravitated to break-up.
So, it is farewell to that relationship, could you describe your ideal man?
My ideal man should be tall, loving, caring and handsome. He must be charming, rich and above all, devoted to God.
What are your dreams?
My vision is to be successful in the industry and impact positively on people’s lives. Of course, life is not all about what you acquire but the legacy you leave behind when you depart mother earth.
